Description
CT-15 is a non-stick FEP coating with a polyamide-imide binder used on metallic substrates to reduce sticking tendency and also to provide a tough, durable film for dry lubrication and good abrasion resistance
Applications
Recommended applications include, but are not limited to the following:
- Transmission Cases
- Third Member Cases
- Suspension Components
- Radiators
- Gun Components
- Cam Bearings
- Slides
-
Advantages
Low coefficient of friction, Good release characteristics, Corrosion resistant, Relatively low cure temperature, Abrasion resistant, Tabor wear test - approximately 9 milligrams per 500 cycles, Does not affect magnetic particle inspection for cracks
- Abrasion Resistant
- Corrosion Protection
- Low Coefficient of Friction
Process
CT-15 non-stick coating is applied as a spray process. Different surface preparatory methods appropriate for the substrates will be used prior to the coating process. Coating thickness is varied to suit the application. Typical coating thickness varies from 0.5 to 0.8 mil (12 - 20 microns) and can be recoated up to 3.0 mils. Can be coated on ferrous and non ferrous substrates.
